Motosat dish and DirecTV; what do I have here?

Hi All,
I'm trying to figure out what I've got and if it is still viable. When we bought this coach, a assumed the satallite gear was obsolete and would all be discarded, but now I'm not so sure.
The dish says motosat HD, and is hooked up to a Nomad SD controller. I went to pull out a tuner box that won't power up, and turns out, it is a DirecTV HD DVR manufactured in 2011, and the antenna was plugged into a coax port labeled "SWM-2"! So apparently this gear is a lot newer than I had assumed.
I got the controller to power up, and danged if it didnt lock onto a satellite! And I can get the 2nd (working) tuner to download a program list, so is this setup suitable to get a Directv subscription??? See pictures. Sorry most are upside down... they looked normal on my phone

The MotoSat dish is pretty stout. The Nomad controllers were problematic. The controller will work fineuntil one day it won't. MotoSat is gone of course, but RF Mogul has a controller that will work with the MotoSat dish, so if your controller goes Tango Uniform, give them a call & they can get you up and running.

Yes, call Carlo at RFmogul.com. We had a RF Mogul Eagle II dish installed on our coach this past September. I remember the tech telling me that RF Mogul had a new controller that was designed to work with the Motosat dish. They can certainly help you.

If it locked onto a satellite and you have signal then yes it is working. We have a 2000 Allure and it has the basic non hd motosat that still works. It came programmed for Direct TV but we have dish. I was able to download the manuals and set it for dish and whamo we have an automatic dish on the roof. Our dish doesn't get Hd so we bough a tailgator to use when in fla for the winter or when we can't get a signal on the roof. It is great when traveling, no set up or anything, push the button. Maybe wash it and your roof LOL but use it! Rf mogul is the source for parts and controllers if yours fails. I am hoping for the simplicity of ours that is never fails. Know anyone with a dtv box? Have them bring it over and plug it in!
