Our Motosat HD dish and/or Nomad2 box developed a fault when last used in July. We tried to have it looked at in San Antonio at the time, but the authorized repair place was closed due to summer holidays.
We are going to be back in San Antonio around mid February 2010 and have now contacted the autorized dealer again, but early February the dealer will shut down for what we believe is an extended winter break. Bad luck for us
Does anyone know on anyone (in the San Antonio TX area) with the capeability to reset the above mentioned system? We think that is all that is needed. We don't think that this is a major fault of any kind - just a fine tuning or resetting of the Nomad2 box.
Thanks.

There's really nothing to tune or reset. I would suggest that you call MotoSAT and buy their update module. You are going to need it from time to time to keep the Nomad software up-to-date. You simple copy the new software onto the included SD card and then power off the Nomad, plug in the update module and turn the Nomad back on. It will take about 10 minutes and when complete you power off the Nomad, remove the module and power it back on again. Do a test dish (hold the find and stow buttons in for 5 seconds), let the dish do it's thing and when complete, do a new search. That should do it!

I have now written twice to MotoSat in an efford to purchase the update module that Bill suggested. I wrote well before Christmas.
I have yet to receive a reply to my query. This is very disappointing customer service

Their email system is worthless. Just call them.

Definitely call. You are going to need to give them credit card info anyway. If you want additional help you could call me as well.

I don't know Bill.
My roof unit has not worked since around July also. I have reset and checked to be sure on Direct, It comes up and finds a signal that it peaks almost due West, (not South/west at all) and continues to look for the second satellite going north. It seems to have happened since Direct took everything off the 119 sat.
I am going to the Tampa RV show next week to see if I can get some answers. I might just upgrade to the 5 lnb unit if the price is right.

That sounds like it's misidentifying a satellite, which the update should fix.

Let's see, $80 for the update module or $2000 for a new dish. If you do want to waste that much money you might want to consider a Winegard since they don't need their software updated. If you want to save the $1920 you can buy the update module now. You can also wait for the Tampa show and a dealer will use his update module to update your system. You will be out $25-$50 that you could have spend on the module and you will have to pay again when the next update comes out.
