Mounting Sat Dome to Fiberglass Roof

I am going to remove my old KVH LM in motion dome and install a new Winegard Roadtrip Mini Max in motion dome.

The Winegard comes with some beefy screws and requires 12 to be installed through the Dome legs and roof with sealant. There is a gap between the Dome and the roof on this setup.

The KVH had a surface plate with a bunch of rivets inserted into the roof. The Dome then mounted to the plate.

What fasteners did you use to fasten your Dome to your fiberglass roof?

The Winegard dome I installed on top of our motorhome with fiberglass roof, came with stainless steel self tapping screws and stainless brackets. I believe I used Dicor lap sealant to seal the screws to the roof. It has been around seven years since the installation, and no problems.

Basically the same here...

Watched them install my RFM 4100 a few weeks ago. 4 "leg" plates, 6 screws each. Dicor through each screw hole, drilled through the dicor into roof, dicor over each screw head. Bead of dicor around each plate for good measure. It ain't going anywhere and no reason to expect any leaks.

16 years ago, my KingDome was installed on my fiberglass covered plywood roof using Well Nuts, similar to this:
Well Nut with Stainless Steel Screw, Well Nuts, Steel Well Nuts : Campmor

New Winegard installed with screws and dicor at each of the four legs.

Antenna worked fine when turned on. Have not traveled with it yet.

I will post back if any problems with it staying on the roof.

Thank you to all who responded.
