The last couple of times I have used the Winegard Movin Vu stationary sattelite dish on our motorhome, it has been unable to lock onto the sattelite signal once it finds it. I am subscribed to Directv, and have not expierienced this problem before in the three or so years that I have owned the dish. The system finds the signal, but just passes it by without locking on to it. If I watch the signal strength screen while it is searching, and cut the power to the dish when it finds the signal, I can watch TV, otherwise it will continue to search. Has only began doing this the last two outtings. I purchased and installed the systerm, and have had no problems at all except for rain fade, since purchase. I tried it again yesterday in the driveway here at home, and still has the problem. Anyone ever have this problem, and what was the solution?

Thanks for any info,

Dieselclacker

Good morning dieselclacker -

The MovinView would find the DIRECTV satellite and sit on it for 10-20 seconds. Then it would move off to check a near-by DISH satellite before coming back to the correct satellite. Try turning the system on and leaving the coach for 15-20 min. If you return and the system is still searching, this is not the issue.

Another thing that can cause something like this is receiver setup. Try setting the receiver for DISH TYPE: Round. Since the system will take orders from the receiver if the receiver is not set up properly it will often give the wrong commands to the MovinView.
