I wonder if anybody figured a way to plug my Ipod into the motorhome's sound system?

I'll give it a shot, what make & model sound system does your motorhome have? What make and model radio is installed in the dash?

No problem if your radio has a plug just plug it in if it doesn't you need a fm modulator that makes your mp3 player transmit a fm signal for your radio.

I tried one in a car once, the radio station has to be steady and while traveling, it isn't great.

I don't like the FM modulator thing. The FM band is so crowded in most metropolitan areas, that one can hardly find enough bandwidth to use the modulator. If the radio has a cassette tape, a cassette adapter would work. If that is not the case, I would look at
Crutchfield: Car Stereo, Speakers, Home Theater, LCD TV, Digital Cameras
and ask one of their advisers for a solution for the specific type of radio.

More than likely your radio will have an auxillary input jack or RCA connection on the back. You can make the connection using an adapter that can be bought at Radio Shack or online like the one below. After the connection is made all you need to do is select Aux on your radio and your ready to go.
Cblwhl 2 x RCA Male / 1 x 3.5mm Stereo Female Y-Cable 6 inch

better than the fm transmitter is an fm modulator. it plugs in between the antenna and the stereo. the antenna is disconnected when the external device is selected, so there is very little interference.
