I was wondering if anyone knows how to automatically load POI's at start up of MS Streets and Trips.

For example, rather that trying to remember to load POI's each time, would like to start with the POI's that I normally use (like low clearances, Discovery POI etc)

I imagine there must be some simple trick, but I'm a Newbie at MS S&T.

Thanks in advance.

Best,

Paul

Load all your poi's then save the current map as your start up file. first backup your normal start up file. replace it with this one. try

Microsoft Streets and Trips

for more info. especially the tips and tricks postings.

That did it!
Thanks so much. I now don't have to reload everything each time. Options, maps even zoom level are all defaulted.

Perfect!!

Appreciate the quick response.

Best,

Paul

Here is an easier way......

As was mentioned above create and save a map. Let's call it POE.EST (EST is the streets & trips extension for map files)

now, right click on any blank spot on your desktop.. Choose NEW and then SHORTCUT from the pop over menu.

now. navigate to My Documents, and POI.EST (unless you saved it elsewhere) Choose that, and on the next wizard page (click next) enter the name you choose (S&T POI for example)

now finish

Double click this icon and it will auto open Streets and Trips with the POI map already loaded

NOTE: you can create many such maps if you wish.. Different POI's for different reasons.

You can also create a S&T folder on the desktop and put a hundred different custom maps in it if you wish, (or more, or less)

Another great idea. Simple and flexible.

Thank you!
