The input selection on the TV for cable would the same input for the antenna as TV's don't normally come with 2 antenna inputs. Is there a switch box someplace that you need to switch from antenna to cable? It is also possible that the input for the cable goes through the same splitter/amplifier for the antenna if so, turn the amplifier off and try it again. One other item to check is when you scan for channels make sure you are setup to scan for cable NOT air or antenna. If none of those work then you need to start testing the cable to see if there is a path from connection to that TV.

Texnet, TU for your ideas. There is no on/off switch on the video connection box to turn amplifier on or off. The bedroom tv gets the cable sevice but not midship so I believe the video connection box works but some how doesn't send cable signal to midship tv. When dealing with imputs they are set on cable. Temporary solution to problem is, I went out to CG cable post and but on a splitter. Main cable line to RV and seperate cable direct to midship tv. The tv works fine with direct line slipped thru the slideout wall. Some how the video connection box will not send out a cable signal to midship tv. I have all buttons on the box pushed in for cable.

Sounds like the switch box may be bad. Try switching the outputs of the switch box to use the output that goes to the bedroom to see it it works. If it does then you could either replace the switch box or just install a splitter on that output. A splitter would mean that both TVs would need to watch the same source.

Two ways. If you are handy with an ohmeter you can short the end of the cable at the television and find the cable that has a short on the other end in the cabinet. It could be connected to the back of the tv antenna amp box. The one with the little on off switch. Making an assumption here.

That said you know the tv is working and set up correctly so take that cable off the splitter outside, pull it back inside and the use a barrel or just hold two ends of cables together to see if you get a picture. Even a fuzzy picture will help you find which cable the tv is fed through.

Clear as mud?

Once again thanks for the input(no bun intended). When I push the cable button on the box for the bedroom tv, the signal goes on and off. I will disconnected cable from midship tv and connect to box and see what happens or as a last resort use a splitter by the box. Probably tomorrow, got to watch NFL today.

Well a new wrinkle to the problem. Connected a cable wire from tv to one of the loose cables behind video box and I get cable on the tv. The original cable is still connected to the box and sending cable tv to bedroom tv. In addition I have a cable laying across the floor sending cable tv to the midship tv. When I connect that cable to box (front tv) connection I get NADA using the box.

Not sure what "loose" wire you are using or what you are connecting it to... more info :-)

Texnet, Bought RV used. Dash tv was removed by previous owner. I had a dish installed and ended up with 4 cable wires disconnected behind video box. Box has connected cables to satellite, cable, bedroom and front tv outlets. Antenna works as does satellite but only cable working in bedroom. When I push cable button for front tv nothing happens (no picture). Disconnected midship tv from cable wire behind tv, then ran a cable on the floor up to the 4 unconnected cables behind video box. One of them had the cable signal sooo I have 2 cable signal wires by the video box. Hope this helps clarify my problem.

The best way to find the solution to your problem is to trace the wiring as it appears you do not have the proper wiring connected to the switch box. Purchase a cheap volt/ohm meter from Walmart, Radio Shack, Lowe's or Home Depot. Also purchase a couple of 6"-12" jumper cables with alligator clips on both ends. These normally come in a bag of 4 or 5 and can be purchased from the same place you get the volt/ohm meter.

Disconnect all cable from the switch box MARKING each cable with a piece of masking tape and write on the masking tape the ones that you know what they are, i.e. from outside cable input, from satellite, from tv antenna, to bedroom tv, to front tv and etc.... Then disconnect the cable from the midship TV and use the ohm meter to measure from the center pin on the connector to the outside of the connector. You should get no reading... if you get a 0 ohm reading the most likely you don't have all the cables disconnected or it is shorted. If you do not get a reading, then take a jumper back to the cables in the equipment compartment where the switch is and clip a lead on the center connector and to the outside of the connector. Go back and check your ohm meter. When you get a 0 ohm reading you have found the cable that goes to the midship TV. Reconnect all cables to there proper locations!
