New wireless ISP

We were in Best Buy recently and saw a new (to us) 3-G broadband wireless ISP. It's from Virgin Mobile USA and uses Sprints network. No contract or activation fees req'd and plans as low as $10. Coverage map is at www.virginmobileusa.com

I took a look at the web page. Most carriers have a 5 GB per month limitation before extra charges. Their plan looks like they have a 1 GB max. The cost is the same as the others. Why would someone pay the same money for less?

The Verizon MiFi appears to offer the same benefits of running one of their air cards. I believe that the transfer rate is 5GB/Mo. The MiFi is priced at the same rate as the air card so there doesn't appear to be a downside.

The Virgin Mobile plan is a terrible plan if you want to use the service for an extended period of time or don't mind being under a contract as you would with the other plans.
The VM plan is a pay as you go setup. This should work well for Canadian visitors or others only interested in a short term internet use. It's similar in nature to the Trac-Phone setup. Not the best plan, but it certainly will fill a void left they the other service providers.

It's an option for some. We both use iphones with 3G coverage if the area support this. Otherwise we get the old 2G network.
