Setting up my DISH 211 receiver from home in the pre-wired coach with a portable DISH 500 satellite pointed at 110 & 119 which will give me enough of the programming I want from my selections at home. We are on a cable here at the park which provides the locals.

Bumfuzzled with this, my first time ever setup. Took forever to find the satellite(s). The actual dish now receives a good signal, about 72% on the check switch screen, but the television only shows the output from the receiver in B&W and no sound. I "think" I have confirmed all of the connections from the receiver to the TV but obviously something is wrong.

Have you tried shutting everthing off and restarting, sometimes that will help. If it doesn't try redirecting your dish a few degrees in several directions and see if things change, you could be locked onto a side lobe of the Sat.

Good luck.

Rockhouse,
It has happened to me. You have to get off the cable station and return to Channel 03. On the cable station you will see everything in black and while with no sound. I hope this helps.

One other thing to try if the above didn't work. I originally had our 211k hooked only by the red/white/yellow connectors to our audio/video control center and got the same thing. We re-hooked using the HDMI cable and we got color. Good luck, sir! David

Okay! So the image you were seeing was a burnt in image.

After you plugged it in and turned it on you started to see moving pictures, is that right?

This here Florida park we are planted at for a few months has on and off again here it is there it went wireless, for which they charge . . . seems like the system guarantees you can not get online more than every third day.

Anyways. almost shamed to admit it . . . problem was the TV seems to have two composite input sources connected to the same TV input.

When the TV source is turned to the wiring marked and from the satellite receiver it shows in vivid B&W. Connecting the TV source to the DVD input shows the satellite in livid color with sound. Just for the funnies, the two marked cable inputs in the service bay are reversed. The bay "cable" connection connects to the satellite input inside and the "satellite"to the cable. Guess this coach was built in a Friday afternoon, or early Monday.
