Has anyone bought and used the new over the air signal meters that senses the signal before you do a channel search?
I see Wineguard is advertising one that replaces the existing over the air antenna booster.
Does it work?

I do not know about Winegard's but I've read nice things about King Control's... Frankly.. I do not use either of them. I use the on-screen tools from my ATSC tuners.

Read THIS on the one I have.
I finally got a chance to smoke test it in Quartzsite last week. Being up North 10 miles the reception is significantly weaker than in town. While the meter didn't show anything active in that area, I did find a few channels out of Tucson manually, BUT they were so far down into the noise that the TV was freezing every several seconds. So technically it's not lying that there is nothing useful.
