We're looking for a non-Direct TV service person in the Lake Havasu/Parker AZ area that makes on-site calls. We want to keep our local stations set up in the system and if we contact DirectTV they are required to change it to the local area. That would mean that when we go home in April we'd be receiving AZ stations for a month or so. Direct TV in the Cincinnati are told me we can only switch local stations every 6 months.

Thanks!

Let us know what you find out. We'll be in the Parker area Jan thru March. I was thinking about having the local stations switched to that area, but didn't know about the six month rule! Where are you staying?

You may need to clarify what you are hoping to do. You can only have one set of locals and you can't have locals plus DNS services. You also cannot receive OH while in AZ and vice versa. So......if you could clarify your desires we might be able to tell you if it's possible.

Calico we're at black meadow landing.
To clarify we want to use the toof dish for DirectTV. Like to keep our home stations but if not possble- then switch local. The Direct rep told us we can only switch every six months. Would prefer our home stations though. Our friend next to us wants his roof dish working also. So we want someone to come out and fix both

Thanks for the clarification. Please re-read my post. With that understanding, only DirecTV can make changes to your service. An local installer can call them on your behalf our you can call them but the results will be the same. The services are spot-beamed so there is no possible way for anyone to make the OH signal magically appear in AZ.
