When I change campground locations and go through all the set-up procedure, the receiver will lock up at the very end when its "acquiring information from satellite". Sometimes it will go clear up to 97%-98% then stop and set there for hours if I let it. Other times it starts at 00% and just sets there. Pressing the Menu, Exit, Back, Guide buttons on the remote does nothing. Usually if I press the Reset Button on the receiver everything shuts off, then restarts like it should and goes on through the "acquiring info from satellite" to 100%. This just started last summer, does anyone else have this problem when doing the Set-Up procedure? Or should I just call Directv (which will probably be a futile effort)?

I am using the Winnebago installed Winegard crank-up dish on top of the coach, the same as I've used for the last 2 years. I also have a 3 LNB oval stand-alone dish I use when under trees but haven't used it for some time now so don't know if the same problem persists with it also. Do you think maybe the dish is causing me problems?

ITS Possible its the dish, could be the lnb is bad or even a loose connection and lastly the box itself. Do you have more than one box that you can try the second one. Possible try your other dish and see if you are getting the same problem. That should narrow the list as to what might be causing the problem. Be aware you have to be level when you crank that dish up and try to get you satellite.

I had the same problem when I had a Winegard Move and view dome installed by winny. It was replaced and solved the problem. This might be your problem.

The receiver does know what antenna is connected to a point. If you have your receiver set to look for a 3-LNB dish and you connect it to a single LNB dish such as the Winegard it can cause a conflict.
Have you checked the setup in your receiver to ensure that it is set for Single LNB?

I had read somewhere in the past that even though you're using a single LNB, just tell the receiver its a 3-LNB and get better service. That's what I've been doing for the last year or so with no problems. But I will try telling it 1 LNB next time and see what happens. In doing the Set-Up, the transponders signals always read in the 80's and 90's, then it goes through the 3 satellites and receiver checks and says OK on each. But at the very last of the Set-Up procedure when it says "acquiring info from satellite", thats where it just stops instead of proceding on to 100%. Will also try the other dish also. Thanks for all the suggestions.

This is not correct. The programming on the other satellites cannot be had without the ability to point toward them. There's nothing magic about the setting in the receiver that would allow programming from the other 2 satellites to magically appear on your receiver.

Wagonmaster2,
Occasionaly my reciever does the same thing - hangs up "acquiring information ..." I just do a manual reset with the red button and when it restarts, it goes all the way through. Sometimes it just zips thru the acquiring process and at times it takes longer. Hey, I figure that's electronics I
