Question for ipad users

Does anyone know how to empty the trash in ipad email? The user manual is no help.

When you have mail open look at the top of the screen toward the right you will see a little garbage can icon. Tap is and the mail is history.

Yes, but how do I empty the deleted mail folder?

Ooops, I just got it done. You press and hold the garbage can in the trash folder. A red "delete all" button pops up at the bottom of the left column. Click it and then the "Delete All?" button pops up and you click on it and it all disappears.

I have been trying for weeks to figure this out. There must be something magic about this group. I had over 8,000 emails in there and they were gone in a flash. Which probably means they aren't really gone, just hidden somewhere.
