Raising Satellite dish

Our used motorhome came with a satellite system, AS-2003 antenna which, from what I read, may or may not work, no reciever. I really don't care if it works or not and the dealer specifically stated, they don't test or warranty satellite systems.

I need to raise the antenna to check the caulking and the book says not to energize the system without having a receiver connected and powered. I thought I would just turn the system on and see what happens but don't want to get the thing up and not be able to get it back down. Advise??

On the same subject - in the case of loss of power to the antenna, how can it be manually lowered and stored for travel?

I suspect you will be ok to raise your dish but here is a link to the manual so you can be sure. http://www.winegard.com/kbase/upload/as2003.pdf
