Did not like the mount that came with the 7710 and with no option for a RamMount, I adapted my own.

Hope this helps others that need a better mounting option that is more flexable than the stock mount.

Looks like a good solution Could you be a bit more specific regarding the end pieces used and how you attached to the existing 7710 bracket?

I think I will be OK with the existing mount, but have not tried it in the MH yet. I need to come up with a RAM solution for my Doran TPMS, though.

I used the following parts to mount my Doran monitor:

RAM-A-238U UNPD RAM 2 7/16" X 1 5/16" BASE W BALL
RAM-A-201U RAM 9/16" STD LENGTH DOUBLE SOCKET ARM

I installed the base on the window frame to the left of the steering wheel. I had to file down the base a little because the frame is a bit narrower than the base, but once I did that, I just screwed it to the frame and the mounting is solid.

Thanks, Ken.

What I am most interested in is the RAM mount part for attaching to the Doran receiver itself. I will use the suction cup mount for the window end.

Bill

The socket arm will do it for you. It is also available in a longer version, if you need it.

As I re-read my post I see I was not very clear. The suction cup mount I meant is the MARS version. The arm then attaches to the ball on that suction mount base. The arm requires another ball fitting on the end that would hold the Doran receiver. What MARS fitting does your Doran actually attach to, and which of the two Doran back plates did you use? Did you keep the Doran adjustable base, without using the three suction cups, and bolt it to a round based ball mount?

I don't know what a MARS mount is so I am not sure if I am providing the information you need.

The Doran monitor has a ball on the back that fits into the suction cup mount that it comes with. I discarded the suction cup mount and used the RAM arm to attach to the ball. The other end of the RAM arm then attached to the ball on the RAM mounting plate that I listed in my first message.

Sorry if this isn't what you need to know.

Ahhh! That is the piece that I was missing. It did not occur to me to disassemble the existing mount and use the ball joint I already had. Very clever. Thanks Ken.
