Rand McNally In-Dash GPS

We have the Rand McNally In-Dash GPS as a part of the Winnebago infotainment center. Been trying to figure out how to mute the audio from the radio/cd player/sat radio and still be able to hear the audio from the GPS. I thought I had accomplished this once but haven't been able to do it again. There are times that I want to hear just the GPS audio as I'm otherwise concentrating on getting to where I'm going and don't want the distraction of the radio. Anyone???

rk911, try this from the manual "Quickly pressing the Power button will mute the audio on your system. Press again or a volume button to resume audio."
"Mute Button, Press to Mute all audio including navigation prompts."

I had the same issue with the Infotainment dash unit. The only way I got it to just have GPS audio is to Pause playback if on DVD or iPOD.

Overall the unit is OK but like so many other things nowadays it appears to be designed by someone that has never used the device in real world conditions. Just advertising gimmick that it has 450 functions.

OK, ladies and gents...I have the solution thanks to a poster on another list who said that the radio audio can be muted by pushing the NAV button a second time when the NAV app is on the screen. that didn't work. but the radio audio will be muted when the NAV app is on the screen if you press AND HOLD the NAV button a second time until it beeps (1-2 seconds). to resume listening to the radio just push the NAV button again. remember, for this to work the NAV app must be on the screen.

too bad Rand McNally didn't add this little gem to their user manual.

Actually, it is in the user manual. I know because I found it hiding in there. It also says that when the entertainment audio has been muted by holding in the nav button, changing to any other screen will restore the entertainment audio.
