Anyone bought and installed the Rand McNally Overdryve GPS tablet? Supposedly it has lots of functions that make an old RV (or car) operate like a new "smart" vehicle. Besides the normal GPS functionality, it allows hands free phone calling, integration with the FM radio, dash cam, and (with expensive optional hardware) TPMS and Rear View Camera. Supposedly the Rand McNally RV stops and functions are included.

Does anyone know how it is installed? Can it be hard wired or does it have to be plugged in every time? How about the Rear View Camera? It supposedly mounts to the rear license plate. I know it is Bluetooth, but is it battery driven or hard wired to something?

Anyone have any real experience with it (no company bashing please)?

Seen it at Best Buy. Very cool looking unit, specifically designed for dedicated travelers (RVers) but RIDICULOUS price. The base unit is $400 plus $200+ for TPMS, $100 for backup camera and more money for a few other options. Lots of other toys for that kind of money. Just my 2 cents.

Best Buy has it listed for $299. Still a lot for a GPS, but maybe not for making an RV more like a smart car. Still haven't heard from anyone out there that has really used it.

I stand corrected Gormley, you are right it is only $299. Agree still too much but would like to hear about the value from actual users.
