Rand McNally Rv GPS App
Is anyone using the Rand McNally RV GPS app for an IPad? Does it have low bridge notification? Would you recommend it or what would you recommend. Our Outlaw is 12' 11" tall..... Bridges scare us. We will be heading across country to Upstate NY and will be using some 2 lanes....

Garmin makes some GPS units for RV's or Trucks/RV's that warn users about low bridges. If you are planning to keep your current tall RV it might be a good investment. Garmin has frequent updates to maps if you buy a unit with lifetime maps. Good luck!

I use the Rand McNally app but only for the toad. I have the Rand McNally 7720 in the MH.
On the 7720 I added the Low Clearances from the POI Factory.
I will set my my height in the app to one greater than a few of the bridges around here and see if it warns me and let you know.

I varied the height setting in the iPad RM GPS app. It did not warn me of low clearances but rather it routed me around them.
My RM 7720 with the Low Clearance POI file loaded warns me of low clearances.

Where do I find the low clearance POI file? I bought RM 7720 and did the map updates, but did not see that file.

It's an aftermarket file.
I bought it online. When I get home I'll post the link.

There's this file at Low Clearances.com Low Clearance GPS Data that will cost you ~15.00. It's an excellent database, but when you pay through PayPal it is an automatic recurring yearly charge. If you don't want that, then as soon as you pay, go to your PayPal account and cancel the recurring charge. You will still get the program and updates for a full year.
There is also a free file located at the POI Factory Low Clearance Underpasses | POI Factory

I, too, am wondering if the Rand McNally RV Maps App for iPad is worth the $99.99 price tag?
