Yes it has an external antenna input as does the 7710. Problem I had is I could never find an antenna that would fit, but I have never had my 7710 lose satellite reception. It would happen quite often with my Garmin 7200 even with an external antenna.

Does anyone know of a way to get this model to export video?

What I want is to connect it to a TV monitor or a laptop
to get a larger image.

Thoughts?

I received mine today. Played with for an hour after I went through the tips & tutorial & read the directions. Now, I feel less than smart. I have the DC & AC plugs, but couldn't figure out where to plug in the other end into te 7720? I found the audio & another couple of inputs but no place to " plug " in. What am I missing - besides the potentially obvious?

The USB port is on the back of unit. There will be a white warning sticker that you will have to remove.

Been using the 7720 for several short local trips and have found it very good. Some 'sharp curve' warnings have been silly as the speed limit was so low already but accurate anyway. All narrow road/bridge ahead warnings were spot on. Speed limit changes were also accurate. It did also know of a low trestle near me and would route me around that . Several new round a bouts were not accurate. Still learning how to find info as I am used to Garmins and this has a different layout. I mounted it right on top of the dash above my backup camera and have no glare issues and is always readable. As with any GPS do not rely solely on it. But when traveling in new areas any help is always good. Over all I am happy with this unit. Will really test it on my annual winter trip to the SW.

My major problem with my 7710 was the display was difficult to read in bright sunlight. The 7720 appears to have corrected this problem

I ordered the 720 for trucks yesterday. Why the 720 rather than the 7720? Mainly because I am more of a truck and wanted more truck infor than rv infor. We stay at very few campgrounds and I cannot turn as sharp as most motorhomes. The only think that I feel I am missing is being able to enter propane into the gps for them there tunnels. When traveling out east guess I will just do my homework but the 720 allows you to enter has mats but propane is not listed. There is an "other" so I will try that and see what happens.
Looking forward to using mine too.

Mine came today.

Some details I did not know...

it comes with both a home and car charger
it has an antenna port for better/faster coverage

The Rand McNally ordering site said they were
out of stock on the glare hood but it shipped also.

Hey, we've all had those DOH moments. My problem is I seem to be having more of them as I supposedly get "older and wiser".

The 7710 also has the same port for an external antenna. The trick is finding an antenna that will fit.
