We have a two channel hauppauge adapter for six years and the Vista media center. The 2.25 HD records all the programs we like for later view.

I have a Channel Master DVR2, I put a 1GB HDD on it and I'm all set. Hauppauge is nice but with the CM I don't have to have the computer on and or I can use it for other things.... but your right there are plenty of units out there... some very cheap...

Yup ....pretty much the same as the Iview. Cheap way to record. I have mine on an input splitter with HDMI out to HDMI-2 so I can watch/record different channels.
