Has anyone replaced the rooftop "batwing" antenna on their motor home with the omnidirectional Roadstar antenna? I'm interested in receiving more over the air signals without having to constantly point the batwing to where the signal is coming from. Will the Roadstar do that?

Also, there semmto be several different versions - Model RS-2000, Model RS-3460/RS3460B, RS-1500 - which one is the right choice?

Finally, the "batwing" I currently have apparently has an amplifier (there's a control next to the TV that powers the amplifier on and off). How much "rewiring" is necessary to get the new system to work properly?

I don't expect that much at all will be required but I could be mistaken. I just installed a Jack and it seems to do very well overall without going out of my way to point it in one direction or another. The Jack does not pull in signals on its own without the amp on the A/V turned ON. I expect that most TV antennas will operate similarly.

antennas always boil down to size vs gain vs lack of aiming. pick any two. if you dont want to aim it, you will only pick up strong, local signals.
