Run dual mapping to get options and features

I've been running Waze on my phone mounted to the steering column and a Garmin RV GPS on the dash with bluetooth to receive real-time road condition and route times from my connected phone. The Garmin takes weight, height, length, width, no U-turn routes into account. Can even set it to take the route that uses the least amount of fuel....which may add an hour, but a much more beautiful drive without all the semi's.

The Waze App helps me know when there is an accident ahead, a vehicle parked on the side of the road, look for a pothole, police or other obstruction. REALLY appreciate the user-maintained live database that gives me a warning and allows me to start moving over from the right lane on a highway to give space to a vehicle I can't see yet. Hate getting boxed in by trucks with a less than intelligent person walking the white line on a congested 75MPH highway...seen it!

When using both together, I can get a traffic warning from Waze with an alternate route or warning that traffic is stopped ahead....just over the hill or around the corner! When I take the alternate route, Garmin warns me if I'm too heavy or won't fit and also routes me so it doesn't make the stupid statement of "make a U-turn when possible"....NOT. Just went to a small state park that had three small, old bridges on either side of the entrance on the main road....weight limit 10T....I'm 15T. Garmin had me go through a small neighborhood safely and avoid the bridges. Good thing. There was nowhere to turn around at the bridges....I've got a toad.
