Try these previous forum discussions on security systems. There are more threads if these do not help you. Type security systems in to the search link at the top of the page.

Others will also weigh in on your question.

I see this is your first post to the forum, Welcome to the forum. I'm sure will find the answer to this question and many more here.

Welcome to the forum!

This is actually a great question and I've often wondered why manufacturers don't invest just a few more dollars to provide 360 degree night vision video of what's going on outside the rig.

I think this is available on high end coaches but it would seem that it wouldn't add much to the cost of production and would provide a great benefit. After dark it's very tough to safely see what's going on outside.

We're glad you're here.

We have the basement compartments, and door alarm protected and an internal motion detector.

There is no power to the unit in our storage facility, so it is not useful there.

Seldom use it in the past 10 years.

I would recommend a dual system... First an intrusion alarm. there are many of these, perhaps yours could phone you or read the half joke at the end of this post.

Second a "Drive off" alarm.. On-Star is about the best here (GM product) or Ford's On-Guard (Which is, as I understand, just as good) dealt with both in my police dispatcher days... Nice "Chasing" a stolen when you have it's GPS cord's every few seconds (Very evil grin) Downside... IF you are late with a RV-Loan payment.... Well they know where you are and can disable the vehicle remotely. I know.. We did.

The half joke.

Concrete proof my dog did not bite him.........

Imagine a man breaking into your house.. He's confronted with a dog.. Rot, Doberman, or most any terrier bread in full attack posture, growling out the challange.

Only it's not a dog, it is a statue, with motion sensor eyes and a digital growl.

He runs, trips over his own two feed and hauls you into court "His dog attacked me"

You explain you have CONCRETE proof your dog attacked nobody.

Wheel in the dog, THUNK, THUNK, As I said your honor.. Concrete.

Half joke 2

Man breaks into your house.. A sound system starts and a CD starts to play...

Pause (Slience) pause (Silence) for 30-60 seconds to give him time to get well into the house SSSSHHHAAAAA SSSUUUNNNKKK of a Shotgun being made ready for action.

now.. trust me.. That's one ALARMED burgler.

Full joke: The P-K9 System

Burgler breaks in and as he's loading the silver into his pillowcase he hears a soft voice say "Jesus is watching you"

Freezes, looks carefully around, sees nothing and goes back to work.

Again he hears the same voice/phrase.. The 3rd time it happens it figures out it's the parrot in it's cage. "So what, you are just a stupid bird, and what kind of idiot names his parrot Jesus?"

The parrot replies. I'm not Jesus, I'm Moses.

Oh, Well then what kind of idiot names his bird Moses?

The same kind that names his Rottweiler Jesus, and Jesus is watching you.

End of jokes.

By the way.. Someone actually makes a plastic statue of a dog with motion detector eyes and a digital growl. Alas, I know not who.

Welcome. I use a lot of devices from X-10 . They have a lot of alarm systems ,and other devices that I have put in my unit.I installed it for when I am not in the unit or park at the stick and brick, mor then when Iam in it,The system I use will cover cargo doors and entry door .I also use about the same system in the house, and it is hooked to phone line.
