RV Trip Wizard and RV Life

Has anyone used RV Trip Wizard and RV Life together. RV Life has an app that will import your routes and offer to download them to your device. Right now I am using a garmin RV660LMT which will not import a route (even from basecamp) as it always recalculates the routes. I wondered if it would be worth getting a small android tablet to use rv life on

It is a waste of time and money. You are best to chart your course with stops. Roads are so well signed that you really only need check occasionally.

I will agree with the signage for the most part. However in Colorado Springs there is one exit that serves two roads and the signage is not clear which lane to be in as it is marked on the road itself. I really don’t like that I have to go to all the trouble of making a route only to have my GPS unit overrule me.

I hear the Apple version works well. However, turn by turn on Android does not work yet, and account management is bungled badly (whether by bad design or bad bug I don't know) on Android.

It is unfortunate, as RV Life has the potential to be better than Copilot due to a better database - but programming is not close yet.

Thanks. I have an iPad Air I was going to use to see how well it and my gps tracked so if I go this route I guess I might need an iPad mini with gps. Although it costs more

Update: The Android account management issue appears to be resolved. Not sure if it was a back end fix, or a bug in the prior version. However, after uninstalling the old version (updating didn't fix it) and installing the new version - it works. Now to wait for turn by turn for Android.

Thanks. I am going to have the iPad version running with my GPS to compare. Although my GPS has some really nice features sometimes it routes me in odd ways. I also just used the RV Trip Wizard routing and they routed me way out of the way just to stay on an interstate

I have RV Wizard and not overly impressed. The usage is not instinctive by a long shot. It can not do turn by turn on the Android as noted.

I would wait and see if they get the program more functional. Without changes, I will not be renewing the subscription.

I will ultimately not be using it. It does not seem as rich in functionality as my garmin. I did run it side by side for about 100 miles and then stopped listening to it
