Hi, MY DW asked if our Garmin 760 GPS could be updated to include the latest RV software. So I contact Garmin and they stated no you need to purchase a new unit that has this feature installed from the factory.
So the DW asked me what brand and which one would work will for RV units.
I am towing a 318SAB Cougar with a 2008 Dodge Mega Cab, approximate length, over all combine length is 45 to 50 FT. I need to measure this week to make sure when we get it home to prep for a trip. This is a guess based on the length of drive way 40'
So my question is what units are being used that user have used and would you buy this unit again or something else?
Thanks
Jim W.

We have a Garmin 465T which permits you to define the size and weight of your vehicle. It has bridge clearance and weight data stored for many (but not all) roads as well as truck restriction data. To the extent possible it will keep you on roads it thinks are better for your size vehicle. What is nice is that if you simply have it on, even if you are not using it for route guidance, it will let you know things like "a mile ahead this road is truck-restricted". Even though RVs are not subject to truck restrictions, my view is that if trucks aren't wanted there I probably don't want to be there either. It's not perfect, but it's better than not having it.

I have the same.....465T and love it........... the only problem I do have with it is that it will take me to where I am going one way and bring me back home a total different way........... and It is set for Truck Mode.
