Yes it is! Readers: don't underestimate this. If you're on the East coast, you can usually still get the Western Arc satellites, but they will be lower on the horizon. This can be an issue if there are low trees.
Last weekend, in central NY, my rooftop mounted Winegard Trav'ler (Western Arc only) couldn't get any reception because of surrounding trees. My portable Dish 500 (also Western Arc, no HD) would've had to be across the road in another campsite to get a signal. But I could manually set the Trav'ler to find just 61.5 (Eastern Arc) and it had no trouble since it was much higher in the sky. I couldn't gat all the channels with he one satellite, but it got the ones I wanted, in HD, and even got my locals from home in SD. Good enough, better than no service at all.
Yes, having options is very good!
