I have dishnet work here at my house. When I travel, I bring along one of my receivers. In my RV I have a winagard dome. Everything works fine in the USA. This summer I am planning to go to Canada. My receiver only accepts zip codes. No azimuth, elevation or skew to input. Can I use my system in Canada, if so how?

Thanks for any help or advise.

Ken

We were in Canada in 2009 and 2010. Both times when we got over 100 miles or so north we were unable to receive our Directv signal due to the low angle that was require of our winegard dome. If you have a portable dish you will get better service as you can aim it a low lower than your dome will allow.

Open faced dishes work much better than domes the further North you travel. We couldn't get a signal in Hinton, AB with our dome, the couple next to us had no problem with their dish.
