Does anyone have problems of a blurry screen or even losing signal from your Satellite dish when it rains? This has happened to my wife and I know a number of times now. I have heard of a spray on soluiton for the dish, does it work and what would anyone suggest? Thanks!

Yep, rain fade is one of the shortcomings of satellite TV. Since the signal is blocked by the rain between the dish/LNB and the satellite, spraying the dish won't make much (if any) difference.
The only thing I've found is to adjust the dish for maximum signal strength during setup as it gives you the most margin possible before signal dropout starts taking place during rainy conditions.

Do you have a dome or a fold down dish on the roof, or a dish on a tripod?

If you have a dome on your roof, "Dome Magic" can be sprayed on it.
The manufacturer claims this aids in the dispersion of the rain droplets and improves performance of the dome in such conditions.

It can raining heavily any where between your dish and the satellite and you can lose the incoming signal, even when you are dialed in at 100% of signal strength. It's the part about satellite TV they don't talk about.

I suspect that you have a dome antenna. It's important that you understand that satellite signals are in the microwave range and microwave signals cannot pass through (much)water.
When it rains the water sheets up on your dome and blocks the signal. If you had an open face dish the signal in not blocked by the water on the dome and therefore you must have a very large rain cloud between you and the satellite (not overhead) before you lose your signal.
Tree limbs will also block a signal. That tree limb that was not in your way could be in your way during/after the rain as the limb sags from the weight.

Save your money, I've tried it..Did not do anything at all. Also, you will need a day with absolutely no wind, or an indoor storage area as it is like spraying an aerosol spray with no body to it..Like hair spray. Paint has more body than this stuff. Sprays like fog and you are supposed to apply from 8 to 10 inches away onto a rounded surface. Most of it blows away..

We have a Tri-pod setup. When it gets really rainy we also get rain fade. One thing that helps a little is a good dose of Rain-X on the dish once a year. It is the only drawback to sat TV against the many, many benefits.

The only real solution to rain fade is to increase the surface area of the dish that the signal is being focused upon. As an example (I live in the PNW/Rain Fade Capital), I replace my 18 inch round dish with a 32 inch round dish and completely "Cured" my rain fade. Also when we vacation near Port McNeil, BC, which also rains even more plus fog, and on the "Edge of the Spot Beam" for Seattle, the little 18 inch dish had problems that the 32 incher also solved.
