This is the info that I found by doing an internet search...

* Fully automatic roof mounted antenna with one button on/off operation
* Views 1 satellite at a time and automatically switches satellites for
seamless viewing
* Requires minimal roof space and no storage space
* Compatible with DISH (SD and HD), DIRECTV (SD) and Bell TV (SD and HD)
* For use while parked

Based on the above info, youshould be able to watch different channels on different TV's as long as the channels are on the SAME satellite, ie channels that are on sat 101, or if you are watching local channels on sat 119. You would NOT be able to get hi-def with this setup. I am speaking about Direct TV only, someone else can speak up for Dish.

As far as being a "good system", I guess "good" would be subject to the end user.

The only way to watch different channels on two TV's is to have a receiver with that capability - or have two receivers. Standard receivers will only output one channel at a time.

We use dish and have not had any problems with them. I would not use a satelite dish that has to be mounted on a motorhome. I have seen way to many rigs that could not receive a signal because of trees. We use a portable that can be moved to get the satelite signal with out any problems. We too have notice that many RV'ers are using the portable dish for that reason.

The Roadtrip has 2 output connections for 2 sat receivers, if you want. If you go with Directv, the dish will give you all of DTV's channels in STD Def. There is add'nl equipment that can allow 2 receivers on one cable, but that can come later after you decide on carrier, receivers etc. My winegard dome is great and is reliable, as long as I don't park under too many trees.
