Installing a Delphi skyfy2 Sat. Radio. I would like to elimate having to plug it in to a cig. lighter or adapter. I would like to wire directly to 12v d.c. underneath the dash. Has anybody wired their power cord to 12v d.c. underneath the dash? The cord comes with a 12v to 6v converter at the end. Would I Have to purchase 12v to 6v converter to make it work?

When I installed a Delphi XM in my fiver, I wired a 12 volt accessory recepticle (cigar lighter) and then plugged in the power cord. The power cord is your step down and I don't think there is an easy alternative.

Thanks to everyone for the info on how to wire my satellite radio. I Will go ahead and purchase a 12 volt accessory recepticle cig lighter and wire it to a 12 volt d.c. line and plug my male adapter into the accesssory rec.
thank you
John
