Question Satellite tv

I just picked up my new Phaeton with a installed in-motion satellite system. I have been trying to get information from direct TV for service but am completely frustrated by the repetitive menus and constant referrals to different departments. AAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I have no knowledge of what's available, I have no allegiance to anyone. I would appreciate if you have any useful information or advice

Michael, i'm not exactly sure what you are asking. I have had Directv for at least 10 years. As with any service provider, some customers are happy and some are not. I am very pleased with their service and quality of the products. They are fine with me taking a box from the house and using it in the motorhome when I am traveling. And contrary to what some folks may say, when I am out of the home zone for my service, it works great and in HD. While I have never struggled with calling them, maybe you could try their online chat customer service. Good luck

First an IN MOTION system only works for SD, not HD tv.. Just so you know, with DirecTV (Works for both with DISH but only for one receiver)

Now how to get to the RV department.. Call the 800 number and tell them that if they switch you to KVH one more time your next call will be to DISH NETWORK.. That works.. Ask for a supervisor if the call taker is clueless.

NEXT. once you get to someon with at least two working brain cells (THE RV department is actually rather good) ask for a DIRECT number to that department if possible.. Also ask them to fax, E-mail, or otherwise mail the RV waiver decleration and instructions to you.

You print this out, (if needed) Fill it out, and send it back by either FAX or Snail along with a copy of the RV registration.

Then you can get Distant Network Service so she who much be obeyed can watch her favorite shows no matter where you are.

IF you have DirecTV for your house. this last may not work (DNS) but if you do not have DirecTV or DirecHDTV for your house.. You can use the "Spare" receiver in the house.. You will just have to obtain, aim and install your own antenna..

The waiver is available on the Escapees website. You need the waiver to get the national channels(ABC etc.) and depending where you live you will get the east or west coast stations for the majors. You want to get to the DNS department, that is your end goal. You must et to that dept. don't let anyone else help you or life gets really messed up. As to what is available in the way of programming packages, look online.

I have the TracVision RV1 in-motion and it is an HD with Dish Network, and it works great for HD programming!

I bought the RV1 and Dish Network box for HD programming.

Thanks to all I have actually made some headway, I am pretty certsain I will resolve the remaining next week.

I also found out that because Direct tv and at&t merged I can get the cost bundled after I activate direct TV so I might save a few bucks as I have at&t for home cable, phones & internet.

Thanks again for all your help
