Satellite TV / Dish Playmaker Satellite Dish

I have a Dish network Playmaker Satellite that was purchased at Camping World. It works good BUT the new Winnebago I have says you can connect the cable to the motorhome from the outside input jack. That does NOT work. It is for connecting a TV system at a RV park and NOT the satellite. Why don't the manufactuers have a external jack for satellite ONLY.

I installed an external separate "Satellite" connector on my Mirada.

External satellite antenna connection | 2001 Coachmen Mirada 300QB

On my 'New-to-me" Southwind I rewired the external "Cable TV connector it so I can use it as "Cable TV" or the LNB feed for my external Satellite antenna

I use the external cable connection for Winegard Pathway X2 portable dish all the time. I did have to remove any and all switches and splitters that were connected to the wire. My dish will not operate if anything is connected between the satellite dish and the receiver.

My Winnebago Navion has two separate inputs - one is for cable, the other is for satellite. I have a Playmaker and Wally combo. If your outside input is labeled SAT and you have connected your sat receiver to the proper one inside, it should work. If it doesn't start looking for loose connections behind the panel either in the connection area or inside the TV cabinet.
