First of all, welcome to the forum!

You don't mention what model Winegard you have but check your manual because my Winegard came configured for Dish instead of DirecTv and I had to go on the roof and change some micro switches to match the info in the manual.

I'm sure the experts will chime in and get you going here shortly.

good luck...

Are you certain that you have the DTV receiver set correctly? If you just removed it from your house and installed it in the RV then it will not work correctly. You need to set the dish to 2 or 3 LNB with a multi-switch (no SWM anything) in the satellite setup routine.

in response to commets on my post concerning satelite problems;

1)my manual says the satelite is set up for directv (i guess they set it up right ?)

2)the receiver was already in my rv (installed by dealer) but the weather was very bad the two days at the dealership ,so i thought the problem might have been weather related. i took the receiver out to try in the house as per directv instructions . when i hooked it up it worked without changing any settings , so i'm thinking settings not right for the rv satelite , but so far can't find a satelite setting that will work

3)i will try the winegard web site.

thanks to all for the help.

Ok, take a look at the satellite antenna(s) on your house.

Question 1 or 2
Question if one how many Lenses does the LNB assembly have?

MOST cities in the united states all Direct channels are on one bird, 101, but in a FEW cases they use either a 2nd dish or a "Dual Head" dish to pick up a 2nd bird (And of course HDTV takes a triple header but that is not your problem)

DOME type antennas can only see on bird at a time

Dish antennas may be able to see more than one, or not.

SOME automatic antenna/controller combinations can change headings fairly quickly and make a multi-satellite install happy.. SOME can not

For RV use the DISTANT NETWORK stations, for DISH are indeed on 119..

But for DirecTV they are on 101

Winegard, it sounds, was cornfused.

Your talking about 119 and DirecTV in the same paragraph is confusing me cause I did not think DirecTV had any programming on 119 any more.

There is some confusion here but it's likely not the OP.
DirecTV broadcasts quite a bit of local Network TV programming from the 110 and 119 satellites.

I would suggest calling our DIRECTV hotline at 866-609-9374. Tell them you have an automatic dome satellite antenna and are having trouble receiving your locals. Give them your zip code and they will confirm which satellite your locals are being broadcast on.

Confirm the dish type set in your receiver with our staff (it should probably be set to 3 LNB 18"x20").

If that does not help they will probably pass you over to technical services to confirm the rest of your system is working properly.

Thank you,

If you are running a done style Winegard system then your receiver setup is - 3 lnb oval. The winegard also will have to be set to auto toggle DirecTV assuming the model of winegard satelltie system you have has this feature. BTW, you can only have one receiver connected when doing auto toggle features.
