I have a winegard traveler directv antenna on the top of our motorhome. It automatically searches and is 5 lnb. I have not used it for over 2 months and when I turned it on recently it found the satellites and locked in within 10 minutes. When I turned the receiver on it could not find the satellites. The message said searching for satellite. The meter showed no satellites and there were no transponders found. I checked with Directv and they said it is an antenna problem. The winegard power supply showed all satellites locked in. I took the receiver home and attached it to our home satellite and the receiver worked perfectly. Obviously the problem is in the winegard antenna system. I checked the two cables going from the antenna to the back of the dvr receiver and they are perfect. Are there any internal wires that could have come off or broken. Any help in this matter will be appreciated.
thanks
Bob

I have the Travler for DISH. If it sits for a while I have the same problem. I go to the setup menu and look for a signal on each satellite. As soon as it locks on to both satellites I cancel back out and everything works. I don't know if Direct works the same way or not.

Good morning bonabob,

I would recommend calling Winegard technical service at 800-788-4417 and letting one of our technicians walk you through a few troubleshooting procedures.

Thanks,

Just had the Traveler installed 5 hours ago. The tech mentioned the same thing the OP is having trouble with. He said to let the antenna find the sats and then do a reset on the receiver.

What dish do you have at home? If it is a SWM type the receiver will have to be reset for a non SWM dish like the Traveler.
