Setting up receiver for satellite

Using our portable satellite due to trees tonight. Have used it many times before without issues. Tonight the tv screen keeps saying searching for satellite 2 while viewing tv programs so I go to the satellite set up on the screen to change from dual lnb to single ( since using the portable dish) and it will just say searching for satellite and never complete the process of switching to single lnb.

Contentedly watching tv with the searching for satellite 2 message but this will soon get old. Any ideas? Directv by the way

When you changed the dish type was the box right under the 18 in dish set to multiswitch?

Push the red reset button and pull the card. You need to confuse it just enough that when it wakes back up, it comes to its senses.

You don't say if it is directv or dish. But if directv, have you pressed the reset button that is next to the receiver card slot?
