Sirius XM Radio Service

Needing your advice... Our Sirius radio is not working. We've called Sirius twice for checks and resets. They say beyond that it's our radio. However, all other features (AM, FM, CD, etc) all work fine. Got on the roof and the antenna...all seem connected. DH has unplugged and plugged cords into boxes to reset as well.

Do I need to call service from here? Do I need to check something else? Who would do this type of service?

Thank you for sharing!!

When you say it is not working what does that mean? Is the display showing anything, such as "Searching for signal"?

If it is searching for a signal you are not able to connect to the satellite(s). It may be your antenna Do you have another antenna you could plug into the back of the radio?

We recently had a very similiar problem. After a lot of trouble shooting I decided the only item that could be the problem was the XM/Sirius antenna. I went to Best Buy and purchased a replacement antenna for $35. Radio has worked great after replacing the antenna.

I don't know why the antenna was bad or even if it was bad but replacing it fixed the problem. If you have questions on how I replaced mine send me a PM.

Not working = we first noticed it was stuck on CH 56. We could not get any other channel. After the calls with Sirius, now the unit just says "no signal"

That's certainly worth a try!

You have the ability to go to the Sirius XM website and send your own refresh signal. I think you have to be on channel 1 or 184.

Both my brother & I had the same problem. A new antenna fixed both of them. On my Itasca I put the antenna in the cabinet above the drivers seat rather than drilling new holes in the roof. Works just fine.

You are right! In our case we couldn't get the unit off 56.

When ours quit working, I discovered that the Sirius had come unplugged from the back of the radio.

"No Signal" would indicate an antenna problem. It could be the antenna or the antenna cable.

Thanks all! I'm headed to Best Buy and getting a new antenna. I'll either yell for help or let you know how it went.

It appears I have 2 magnetic antennas on top. Is this normal?

I had three on my roof that look similar one was for the gps, one was for the Dish antenna and the one that was labeled XM. Are either labeled?

Happened to us also, stuck on the last channel I tuned to. Turned out to be a problem at Sirius. Next day it worked fine and has worked well since.
