Auto refresh also uses a lot, like for weather and Facebook apps.

I have the same phone. I like the size. I have all my email, calendars, etc., synced between computers and DW's iPad.

When I'm at the B&M (Bricks and Mortar) I turn it off when I'm in the house. Most friends know I'm home and will call me on the B&M phone. Doing that I can go a couple days with turning it on and off when I go out and come back in. When we are on the road i plug it in just about every night, doesn't matter what the battery status is. Like others, I have several chargers that are kept in different places, B&M, TOAD, MH. TOAD is good to have a charger and you can plug it in between sightseeing spots. It will reach a real good charge in about 20-30 minutes.

Happy trails.

That is really odd. I've never had an iPhone, but all my iPads, ipad minis, and MacBooks charge while off. Idk why they would do it different on an iPhone.

Btw, my battery charge recommendations were for android phones anyway. Like I said, I never had iPhone so I don't pay attention to stuff for them.
