Well, the files tend to be a bit dated but the Discovery Owner's Forum (you can google it) has a public download section (need not be a member) for POI files.. These files are member contributed, and there are quite a few of them.. They are grouped by software as well, Streets and Trips takes a generic import file

http://www.discoveryowners.com/cginfolinks.htm

If you do not wish to Google for it

Individual POI's: POI Factory | new & interesting places for your GPS
Low Bridge POI program: Low Clearance GPS Data (Annual fee, but the program is updated a few times each year)

Which 2010 file do you mean, and I assume you mean into S&T 2010?

Yes I downloaded the MegaPOI file, and I thought it was a drop in thing, but as I'm reading the 160 post thread I'm finding out that it is not.

I'm using S&T 2011 and got the Jan ZIP file, but I would think that 2010 would work the same way.

Download the 2010 Dec ZIP file. When you unzip it you should have a file with an .STT extension, which is a S&T template file. Double clicking should open that file in S&T and show all the push pins. I did some deleting to get rid of push pins I didn't need, I then saved the file as my default S&T template file (New North American Map.STT) so that the push pin set is a part of every new file I create.

I you don't want to do that then just save the file as a regular map file (.EST extension).

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have additonal questions.

Hmmm, I tried to open both the zip and stt versions and got a message that Windows could not find the file to open either. Is it operator malfunction or something else? No one else appears to be having the same problem.

Denny, are you sure you're using the correct versions? The 2011 Mega file cannot be opened with S&T 2010.

Ah, it WAS operator malfunction! I have the '10 version. Too bad, it looks like a file I would have enjoyed.

The Dec file is for S&T 2010. Grab that one and you should be okay. Here's a direct link: http://www.laptopgpsworld.com/attach...gafile.dec.zip

Bob,

I could only open the small text file, not the large .stt file. I double checked to be sure I have the 2010 version and I do. Any other suggestions?

Hmm, You definitely down loaded the 2010 December file, correct? Make sure S&T is closed, then double click on the .STT file. What happens or what kind of message do you get?

S&T is closed and when I double click on the .stt file a box comes up which say "Windows in unable to open this file". Grrr.
