Ughhh...some also can't see the difference in VHS and DVD's and are happy with it too. As for me, there is a huge difference, same goes with std. tv and HD, maybe the reason the batwings are being replaced with Jack's.

There really is not that much noticeable difference between watching HD or SD on an older crt tv, however, if you have an HD Ready or newer LCD or LED television, the difference is quite noticeable. By the way, even SD signals now are digital and no longer analog so the picture on SD now is clearer than before.

Does anyone know how to convert a Winegard sk-3003 to an sk-3005? I hear it can be done but what parts are needed and where can they be obtained?

Welcome to the forum. It's usually better to start your own new thread with a question like this but I don't believe you can do what you're suggesting.
Winegard's site says the 3003 cannot be upgraded to a slimline. TRAV'LER Automatic Multi-Satellite HDTV Antennas - Winegard
