Want to put sat. Dish on my mh roof, anyone have suggestions for type to use. I have been looking at Winegard slimline but unsure how well it will work.

If you have HD and use direcTv, I recommend you install a Winegard SK-3005 (at least I think it's SK). It's pricey but well worth it if you watch a lot of TV in your travels.

+2 That's the one I have and it has worked flawlessly. Love the HD. Only drawback is that you need to be stationary.

I use Directv with a MotoSat slimline 5 lnb, very similar to the Wineguard.
Have had 2 motosats and they work great and compared to dome type, less rain fade.

Certainly not a drawback to me. Just one less thing that can possibly distract me while driving. My wife reads while I drive and doesn't need TV. I could ALMOST understand those with small children having TV while driving - although in this day of the iPad etc it isn't necessary - but for anyone else it's better to wait until they stop.

I've never had any rain fade with the 30045 as opposed to the previous Winegard I had. Also, you can't get DirecTv HD with a dome as I understand. (This is just an addition to my previous recommendation regarding the 3005). Please correct me if I'm wrong.

We have the Winegard Travler 1000. It is the same as the Winegard SK3005 only for DISH TV. It is the best as far as I am concerned.

I just bought a VuQube 10 for mine. It's made for tractortrailers but they have a model that has a handle and you can set anywhere. What's nice is they work with DirectTv and Dish and you can buy a new one for $540 which is a lot cheaper than $1200-$1700 for the other brands. It's fully enclosed in a weather proof dome and the only wire is your cable to the reciever. Mines going to replace the crank-up Winegard thats on my motorhome now. It's 17 inches high and weighs 10.5 lbs. I bought a used one for $250 off a classifieds website.

You are correct, you can't get Directv HD with a dome. Use to be you could on 110 and 119, but they changed sats...now you can't, You also needed an optional HD filter such as Kingdome offered. Domes that supply Dish receivers will receive Dish's limited HD content, but Sat switching is required and don't believe it works in-motion.
Best bet is go is stationary slimline 5 (motoSat or Wineguard) for Directv HD

Ditto... if you want HD... and, IMO, you should want HD. We've had our Winegard SK3005 for nearly 3 years now and love it. Their previous version (ASC 2003) was really a .... well, it didn't work very well or hold up very long... but they've got it right with the slimline.

I installed a Winegard Roadtrip in-motion on our previous MH and it performed very well. I think the model I had has been replaced by a newer model.

We have Dish Network and the Winegard Trav'ler. Seems to work really well BUT:
1. Have been blocke3d out of reception in some spots &
2. Am worried about how it stows. The arm has a skid or roller on it that rolls? across the rubber roof into stowing position and I imagine that it bounces some going down the road. ow is the roof going to hold up?

Yeah for price the VuQube is the way to go. As far as the HD thing goes I don't see that much difference in standard and HD picture to warrant all the BS you have to do and need. Most people are happy to have reception with the old batwing and don't have even care about satellite tv.
