Hi, planning to install Tracvision 4sl and the install guide calls for the antennea cables to be grounded. What is the normal way to ground the cable? And where do I get it? I think I know but I would rather ask a dumb ? then make a dumb mistake. Thanks, Jerry

Thought the normally, when you ground an antenna it means EARTH GROUND, that is not practical in a motor home.. Less you take the wheels off of course.

Chassis ground is fine.. Just ground it to the chassis.

I believe the only grounds you have are the chassis or the negative post on the battery. JMHO

If you really need an earth ground (some things do), you can take a 4-6 foot ground rod with a clamp and an attached length of #6 wire (preferably green sheathed). Either clamp or screw the wire to a good chassis ground point and then drive the ground rod about 3-4 feet into damp ground with a hammer. welding a small piece across the top in a T shape makes it easier to pull up when you are ready to leave.

If you have to do this a lot, use welding cable as it is more supple.

Thanks for the replies. That fact that KVH calls for an AC ground seems some what confusing as, in the end, the chassis ( 12V ) and an AC ground is actually the same. I grounded it to the generator, so I assume thats as close as one could get.
