Tailgater Ladder Mount DIY - follow up.

I followed the design outlined in this thread:

http://www.irv2.com/forums/f53/tailg...nt-170285.html

Here are the results:

Okay, really like the way this looked and the fact that it was up off the ground BUT...

I made mine up as almost everyone else has. I put it up and no signal. Take it down - orient the same general direction. Signal. To make sure I didn't get it wrong - I did it again. Same results. Up - no signal, down - signal.

Only difference in my construction - I couldn't locate an aluminum plate, so I made one from some plywood I had with me on the coach.

Note: when the Tailgater sits on the ground it sits on the same panel only up on the PVC.

Any ideas please?

We have a 2015 Georgetown 351 DS.

Thanks

You have a clear LOS both up and down, correct?
Same cable both up and down?
Cable bent at an angle when up vs. down, and not making good connection?

I hate to admit this but that is the only thing I didn't check. Later today I'll use and put a wrap around the coax and secure with a bungie.

I'll bet this was the problem. I'll let you know. Thanks. Ben

Thanks. Made the change on the raised tailgater (a couple of wraps around the tailgater and then down) - bingo bongo bango. GREAT PIC!!!
