No you will not see any dc path thru most preamps.

Depending on the type of splitters they used in building it.
Not uncommon to find problems with either one.

On message #11 you showed that the problem is not the pre amp at least as far as pass through goes. Did you think to power cycle the booster and see if it changed either the amount of stations or the signal strength? That would be the final test for that.
It looks like either the cable to the BOMB or the BOMB itself. Could be either one.

I did some more testing today, I tested every individual coax cable in previous tests so today I disconnected the antenna lead from the bomb to the pre amp(that I mistakenly was calling a booster previously) and connected it directly from the pre amp to the TV and immediately got over 50 channels!
So like you suggested the bomb was bad all along, now to find a replacement.
Thanks everyone for pitching in and helping me resolve this !

Ok, let me see if I have this right
Antenna===Wall plate---Box of many buttons---TV.
Antenna to TV works (Should work poorly)
Antenna to wall plate to bomb to tv no work
Suspects
Wall plate.. To test run wire from Wall plate jack to TV, see note below
Bomb (Since you tested that cable)
Cable from Bomb to TV (you did not say you tested it)
What to do is obvious of course, replace defective part.
IF it is the wall plate (Very possible) consider upgrading to a Winegard Sensar Pro,, Roughly a $C-note it makes a world of difference in many ways, Also consider adding wingman to batwing if you have not.
Good luck, please keep us updated.

By your diagram I have signal to the bomb but from the bomb to the TV.
It I take the the cable that runs from the wall plate to the bomb, disconnect one end from the bomb and run it direct to the TV I get get channels so the bomb has to be the culprit.
I just recently upgraded the old sensar antenna to the newer sensar IV with the built in batwing and replaced the cable that runs from the antenna to the roof so all the cabling is good. Now I just have to find a new bomb to replace the defective one.
Again thanks for all the help and advice

Lots of luck on this one. I have checked high and low and it looks like these are all gone. I have done a lot of cleaning on mine and had to re-solder some of the connections in the back. I think I have mine back to working order. But I would certainly like to replace it with a new unit if possible. It just looks like these switchers are a thing of the past.
If you find one, please post what you found and where you found it.
Thanks,
Bob

That is the same one I have Art, Winegard label on mine but confirmed from Winegard in a tech phone call it is the same as the Magnadye. That unit provides power to the antenna head for anyone wondering or needing to know.

I found it to be well built and will cover just about any system if connected right.

I found one that looks like an unpowered version of the one linked above.

I might pick one up but I'm also considering doing away with the bomb altogether .

Art,
Thank you very, very much. I thought these were extinct. And even though they do not list these as "RV" switches, the fact that they have the antenna preamp power and label one of the outputs as "rear" TV make it a perfect replacement. I particularly like the integrated RF modulator (to get satellite pic to the back).
