I always take our RV660 to my daughters house for the map updates. Much faster there than using our AT&T mifi connection. But with all the times I have performed the update, only once did I ever have a problem. That was when I tried to use a campground wifi during the day to perform a map update. I had checked with the owners first and they said "no problem" but I found out after the update failed that the campground system had a limiter on the data used.
