Trackvision LM

I have read that my trackvision LM will work with Dish Network if I hook up a laptop to the rs232 conector and tell it where to see the sattelite. I contacted KVH and their response was that Dish will not work with the LM but the manual says different? Anyone know the truth?

Did they mean Dish HD or no Dish Network reception at all (not likely).

They meant none at all

From the owners manual for the KVH LM antenna.

Unlike the DIRECTV IRDs, the EchoStar IRD used with
the DISH Network is not equipped with a DB9 connector.
As a result, you will need to purchase an EchoStar Adapter (KVH

Product Number 02-0899).

So the good news is that it DID work with Dish Network but it's certainly possible that it will no longer work with the current Dish Network receivers.

I have read numerous places that I can use dish as long as I hook up a laptop to the low speed port and tell it what azimuth and elevation to look at. I am not really needing to use it while in motion just when parked. It tries to locate the sat when I hook up the box and it is a dish 322 dual tuner box from my house. I just want to know straight up can I use this with dish and if so how do I do it. Thanks
