I recently installed a new LCD TV in my coach. The speakers on the TV are very poor quality and my hearing isn't what it used to be so I was wondering if there is some way I can install a small amplifier and remote speakers?

Depending how handy you are and what audio connections are on the back of your TV, you could add a powered speaker system. I used an Altec Lansing VS3251 (do a Google search) which has 5 speakers for surround sound and has a separate sub-woofer. The amplifier is in the sub-woofer.
I mounted the front center and L-R speakers just behind the TV and the sub-woofer is hidden behind the TV in the space formerly occupied by the large tube TV. I mounted the rear surround L-R speakers further back in the coach. You have to run wires. I liked this system because it has a remote control eye that you can mount anywhere. Because the sub is inaccessible, I just left its power switch on and all control is through the remote. I used the audio L-R jacks (red/white) on the back of the TV and ran a cable that adapts to the mini-jack Aux input on the sub-woofer. You have to turn on the TV and then turn on the speaker system separately. I like it fine. The bass is powerful and will rattle the ice cubes in my margarita.

I like you have a hearing problem any more. I like to use an RCA 900Mhz wireless transmitter to a pair of RCA wireless earphones. I can still listen to sports out on the patio or under the awning and no cords. The stereo is excellent to the ear phones. I use this set up on my TV, my radio, VCR,&DVD, all through the switching center.

Sammie,
Do you have a sterio/dvd system already installed in the Journey? You may be able to pipe the audio through that existing system.

All good ideas! I do have a surround system which works well when watching a DVD movie. I just want to add a couple of maybe 4 to 6 inch speakers a little closer to the sofa and lounge chair areas so when my DW and I watch regular TV we can hear without cranking up the volumn so loud that the neighbors get pi--ed.
