Someone told me to replace my antenna booster after I installed a batwing to the Winegard and still no inprovement. Up in the tv/dvd compartment is a 'TV Booster switch' which I keep on. I took the switch down and 2 red wires lead off in the roof but were is the booster board. 2002 Holiday Rambler Vactioner.

It is in the antenna head. All Winegard TV and satellite antennas include a built-in signal booster. When the power supply to the RV is turned on, current runs from the power source, up the cable and to the antenna. The voltage from the power supply runs to the transistors in the antenna head assembly and the transistors become energized. The energized transistors send the TV signal from the antenna to the TV.

The booster is INSIDE THE ANTENNA. not much more i can tell you about it, but if you open the plastic center part of the antenna, you will see the booster.

NOTE: before you start taking too many things apart.. There should not be two wires leading up to the roof from the booster switch.. Just a coax, it is fed by the coax cable (normally) though there are exceptions to everything.. Including this)

Disconnect the coax from the antenna and using a test lamp (Small 12 volt lamp) make sure ther is 12 v between the center wire and the "Nut" on the connector.

Thanks, I will check with meter for 12v's at head and switch inside. The 2 red wires must go up near the exit and tap into a coax cable. Camping World told me to buy a after market booster. ($75) It must go inline in the top cabinet.
