we are getting ready to take our first trip in the new class A, MH. we will be comming back on sunday. i was wondering about the tv antenna. will it take the wind while on the road, just in case i want to turn on the nascar race. I don't want to crank it up and have it rip off the roof

I would not drive with the antenna in the up position. Not only do you risk the wind damage, but this adds another 2-3' hieght to the MH.

The crank up antenna is NOT designed to be used while traveling. Don't try it. You may also find your front TV won't work while the engine is on anyway...

Dan is right on: no deployment of the TV antenna unless you are stationary. What will crack (due to high winds) is the aluminum support base. When it cracks, it begins to leak during rain. To replace it is to remove the dozen or so screws that hold it down ....AND.... the goop/caulk that was used to seal it initially. With years of sun exposure, this caulk is REALLY hard stuff. So even when stationary, lowing the antenna when the prediction of high wind gusts is known is a good idea.

Antenna up ONLY when parked. Set up the DVR at home to record the race and watch it later.

Beside, most states it is illegal for the driver to be able to see the TV while operating the vehicle.
