I think we would agree that in a perfect world only true sine wave inverters would exist. After pricing a new Xantrex to replace a perfectly good modified sine wave inverter, I decided to go a different route. (~$1500.00)
You can purchase small sine wave units in the 100-200 watt range reasonably cheaply. (~$150.00) One in that range should power your TV, but of course check your wattage sticker. Most of them are single purpose units that plug into the 12 volt outlet.
I just permanantly mounted one exclusively for the TV. I sometimes plug my cell charger into it because that is another device that doesn't like MSW power.
I e-mailed Winegard about using the power/control unit of our Trav'ler sat dish and they said it is ok with MSW. I was afraid that I might be harming it.
Good luck and Buzzz On!
