On my TV (panasonic) I have to select video. Not channel 3 or 4.

It sounds like you chose to put the converter into the From Antenna connection which will not work. You need to keep the cable from the roof connected to that connection on the video control center and connect the converter to either the Out to TV1 connection or, if available, the VCR connection.

My tale of woe this time is this, been having trouble no tv with convertor, when on roof took off wire to antenna had 12 volts clean put it back went down no signal,i was using these tv wires that push on, switch the wires at the convertor, got tv YEA! so i took of the push on and put the wire to the tv directly to the converter, and used the good push on onthe antenna side got tv, went get and got standard tv wire came back put in on no tv!went up to the antenna no voltage 12 volts going into distribution box but now no voltage coming out of distribution box! what going on! Help could the switch box be intermittent?
I am go to take up drinking soon!

We have a 2003 Holiday Rambler Imperial, it has the factory TV's still in it which still work fine with the DVD player we plug into them. We have never been able to get local TV from the roof top antenna. We had Direct TV but removed it after many night mares with them. The Tech who installed the DirecTV removed the cable box when he installed theirs. Do I have to have this origional box hook up to get local programing? Any thoughts would be a blessing at this point. We are full timers for the past 14 months and can only watch DVDs for home entertainment. Thank You Guys,
mike

You need to buy a digital converter. You can get one from Best Buy, or Radio Shack. Remove the antenna in cable from switch box attach it into antenna in on converter. Then take a new piece of cable, attach to antenna out on converter and antenna in on switch box.
You will have to tune you tv to ch 3 or ch 4 to get it to receive. Instruction will be included with converter box. $60.00 will solve your problems.

Thanks Davdeb,
I will look into this right away. I guess I could tape the new coax to the old one and feed it through the same chase as the old one. So, you don't think the removal of the DirectTV Satellite reciever has something to do with not getting local/antenna TV?
Thanks,
mike

First "I get the menu on channel 4, not 3" The converter can be set up either way. MOST come facrory set to 3, but not all.. 4 is the alternate. Same for just about everything that makes video save the 2nd out on a Dish Network DVR dual receiver (it's UHF)
Now the lack of channels when you scan:
Possible causes: No channels worth scanning in your area (See link below)
Bad switch box, or wrong switch position (YOU MUST CHOOSE ANTENNA for the cable that feeds the converter)
Bad cable, Switch box to converter -OR- Switch box to roof -OR- Roof to antenna.
Bad antenna
The link: AntennaPoint.com - Antenna Locator
You may have to scroll and/or link off this page, Some of the pages are quite "long"
Enter your current ZIP code, or lat & long, and a few other things (Single story house) and it will tell you if there are stations "in range" and what direction to look. Preset and scan.. Then once you find one use the software in the converter to pinpoint.
NOTE: Wingearg Batwing antennas do benefit from the addition of the Wingman, No or one tool needed (Pliars, standard kind) and may benefit from the addition of a Sensar Pro.. I plan on getting one of those (Sensar Pro) as my next upgrade... When I get it I'll do some major re-wiring,, Will end up with a much better system. (More Flexible)

One other possibility, I forgot one time to crank up the antenna, and it would nit tune any channels. I was beside myself, because it works just a couple of weeks ago in town and out of town. Then of course, DUHHHHH! I cranked up antenna, and everything was cool.
